PPC – Business Clicks

Pay Per Click (PPC) is one of the most popular methods of Advertising used on Search Engines today. It is an eminent Off-Page Search Engine Optimization(SEO) tool. Because On-Page Optimization has its limits, businesses have turned to the arena of paid prominence. Just as all geometry began with a point, business for your website begins with a click. So, when a click is the be-all and end-all of your business, it is not a bad bargain to make some payment for it.

Pay Per Click, as the name suggests, is the payment made for every click (visit) to your website. On the Search Engine Result Page(SERP), there are natural or organic results and then the sponsored results towards the right and sometimes at the top. The latter is a paid segment where advertisers bid for key phrases that concern their business, products and services. The most popular names in PPCs are Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing and MSN adCenter, in that order.

PPC ads on a search engine are usually very small but very specific descriptions of your business. If a searcher clicks on your ad, you get a potential customer and the search engine gets its money that you bid or have agreed to pay. Sometimes, however, clicks may not be resulting in business for you. Thanks to ‘Click fraud’ – a controversial cyber crime in online advertising. Click fraud may be the result of a person, computer program or automated script imitating a genuine user to click on ads to generate charges per click. It is business for the search engines; however unfortunate it may be for your business and budget.

Why Affiliate Marketing Is Often Mistaken For A Scam

If you have ever done any serious research on affiliate marketing on
the internet, you would have probably found that it is by far the
quickest and easiest way for anyone to start making money online and
that the opportunity to make some serious cash IS really there.

But how many times have you also found yourself bombarded with
advertising banners telling you the exact same thing, only to make you
wonder if affiliate marketing is really as good as it is made out to be?

What is worse, most of the time these banners are so obtrusive that
they are practically yelling at you for attention. It is this very
crass method of advertising that casts affiliate marketing in bad light.
TO some extent, it even erodes the credibility of affiliate marketing
as a legitimate income-producing, viable business that it is; hence
making it appear “scammish”.

I believe all the affiliates out there share the same goal, that is to
make money. Almost all of them ventured into affiliate marketing with
the intention of creating a viable secondary passive income stream which
could hopefully in time, replace their paychecks. That is all fair
because why else would you want to get into business with affiliate
marketing if not to make money?

The thing is, there are two groups of affiliate marketers. First, there
are decent affiliates who conduct their online businesses with the same
level of seriousness and integrity as they would a regular business.
These folks know they need to put in the work necessary to build a
solid and viable business from which they can reap long-term profits.

On the other hand, there are those who see this as their ticket to
overnight riches. They want to reap big profits quickly and do not
bother to really learn the business and much less, bother about which
methods are ethical or acceptable in promoting their business. And
quite often, they move from one promotion to the next in haste giving
rise to the image of affiliate marketers as “scam artists”.

In short, it is important to know that the only difference between
affiliate marketing and any other conventional marketing is that the
former is conducted online…and I cannot think of any place in this
world where you can plaster your advertising billboards just about
anywhere you please. Can you?
